progrock.com chat

On Friday, November 15th at 1PM CST, some of us Nomadic Horizon members will be in the chat room at progrock.com talking about our latest release “Crushing Time” which is host Peter Prog’s album of the week! Just click on the link to join in and listen to some great music while you’re there!

New music and next show

Sooo… We’re into November! October was a month off for us after a few successful shows to launch our album “Crushing Time”. We happily got to share the stage with Vai-Able, Cloud Zero, and the Cyberiam. These shows featured a new, 11 minute mini-epic called “Tear it Down” which is one of our most ambitious songs to date. We now have 2 more – “Deception” (vocal) and “Vanishing Point” (instrumental), and it’s looking like these will be ready for our next show. And that next show will be… November 21st at RocHaus in West Dundee, IL. RocHaus is an excellent room, purpose-built for live music. They host many national acts (they launched with Living Colour) and they’re now celebrating their 2 year anniversary. We will once again be sharing the bill with the Cyberiam who have just released a live DVD that you’ll want to get your hands on. Also appearing will be Big Time – the Music of Peter Gabriel which consists of members of Cloud Zero, Zip Tang, Sonus Umbra, and our very own Tom Heslin on bass and backing vocals. Yes, another night of interesting rock! Hope to see you there!

August update!

Hello hello! First of all, we’d like to thank everyone who made it out to our record release party in June. The show was a great success in both attendance and CD sales, so THANK YOU! And if you missed it, no worries. We have another show coming up Friday, August 16 at the Mainstage Theater at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, IL. This is a great opportunity to experience the band in a real, sit-down theater setting. Joining us will be our friends Vai-Able (Steve Vai tribute) and Cloud Zero (Porcupine Tree tribute). Dinner and room packages are available, just follow the ticket link here – TICKETS

A couple other things to mention…

The weekend following the album release, Tom got to do a guest vocal with British neo-prog legends Arena! He was invited to a private event in Chicago hosted by progrock.com to sing the song Crying For Help IV from their first album, and it went great. A wonderful night all around, with lots of gin and cake to celebrate John Mitchell’s birthday!

And check this out – Thursday, August 8 at Reggie’s in Chicago, Tom, along with guitar great Chris Siebold (Kick the Cat, Psycles), drummer Jay Rocha (Animation), and vocalist Kerry Devine (LAVA Rock) will be doing a special one-off tribute to RUSH! Expect the unexpected (DEEP cuts…)

Nomadic Horizon 2019

Hello strangers! It’s been a while, so lots of news to share. As many of you already know, due to a handful of other artists using the name Nomadic, we have now officially become Nomadic Horizon. With the upcoming release of our new album, we thought it was time to address the issue, and we’re honestly pretty happy about the change!

And speaking of the new album – It is in the final mixing stages and artwork is complete. 11 tracks, including remixed/edited versions of the four tracks on our debut EP. Titled “Crushing Time”, it is a true representation of the dynamics of this band. From the freight train rockers on the EP, to our more textural/dynamic pieces that most of you have only heard live, we’re very proud of what we’ve accomplished. Release date is set for June 14.

And to celebrate the release, we’re hosting a CD release party at MT Barrels in Schaumburg on Saturday, June 15. We will likely perform the album in its entirety (not sure about the duet – did I mention there’s a duet?) and then some. As an added bonus, immediately following our set will be our friends Cloud Zero, a killer tribute to Porcupine Tree! More info as we get closer to show date. Mark your calendars now!
